Whale hello everyone!

It has been a little while since the last update, so I wanted to share the latest with you. 

Although we are facing a little delay of roughly 4 weeks in the production of the dice, partly due to the midd autumn Festival/national holiday week and the fact that painting 7500 whales by hand was more time consuming than expected, things are looking good. 

All dice are being polished and painted in the upcoming weeks. In the past couple weeks, the stickers and enamel pins also have been made and received at the fulfillment centre, so we are getting close to preparing for shipping. 

As mentioned in the previous update, I will post another update once the dice are being shipped to the fulfillment centre. In that update I will share more details about the shipping and when your card will be charged for the add-ons and shipping costs. I will also want to give you some time to re-check and/or adjust your shipping address before I proceed with shipping, but for now we have to wait a little longer....

Time for another update

Whale hello again!

I want to share another update with you to let you know where we are standing at now and what the next steps are going to be. 

But first I want to thank you all again for being so responsive to answering the BackerKit survey—even though it may not seem like much as an individual backer, you have no idea how tremendously helpful this is for me when trying to keep track of all 484 backers! 

We are currently at 92% surveys completed, so we are doing great. A friendly reminder to the 39 backers who have not filled in the survey just yet. Please do this as soon as possible to avoid delays (also if you did not pledge for a physical reward). :-)

In the past weeks I have been placing all orders for the Whale dice, enamel pins, stickers and dice boxes. At this moment, all 7500 whales have been painted by hand and are ready for the next production step. The enamel pins and stickers will be made in the upcoming weeks. 

I expect all items to be shipped to the fulfillment centre this month. Once we have all the items in the fulfillment centre (at the end of) this month, I will have another call with them to make sure that all orders are packed and picked well to make sure that you will receive everything in good order. 

But before that, I will share another update once I have a more final date on when I will have all items at the fulfillment centre. In that update I will share more details about the shipping and when your card will be charged for the add-ons and shipping costs. I will also want to give you some time to re-check and/or adjust your shipping address before I proceed with shipping.

Free add-on upgrade and another project update

Whale hello everyone!

I have some good news to share with you today. But first;

Locking backerkit orders soon

About two weeks ago you have received the backerkit survey invite for providing me with your address and to give you the opportunity to purchase any add-ons if wanted. In 48 hours from now I will lock all orders, so no changes to your order can be made after that. You are able to change your address till 2 days before shipping.

We still have 66 backers who need to complete the survey. Please make sure to complete the survey as soon as possible, in order to prevent any delays and for me to have a better image on what to order.

Free Add-on upgrade

One of the add-ons you can select for this project is the metal dice box with the foam lining to store your dice. This dice box initially had room for a 7pcs set, but since we have unlocked the $11,000 usd stretch goal earlier for upgrading all 7pcs dice sets to 11pcs sets, I will be upgrading the metal dice box as well, so you can now store the whole set in it!

Production

Now that the majority of you have filled in the backerkit survey, and the orders will be locked soon, we will start making these cuties. Production will take about 1-2 months. In the past two weeks I have worked on setting up a partnership with a fulfillment centre who will take care of the shipping. Once production is done and everything is at the warehouse, shipping will take place within 2 days. More information about the production progress and shipping will be shared in a next update.

Backerkit surveys will be send out soon!

Dear backers, 

Soon you’ll receive an email from me with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since I need this information to process your rewards.

It is good to know that you don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. 

Please make sure to double check your shipping information since incomplete name, address and/or contact details, can result in delays during shipping and can even cause parcels to be undeliverable or lost. 

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before I close the surveys and get my final counts.

If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on my BackerKit project page at https://white-whale-in-dice.backerkit.com

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. Please also make sure to check your spam box.

It has been an amazing month that seems so long yet so short at the same time. Thank you for supporting me in this project and for the kind messages you have sent me. I couldn't have done this without you!

With this update I would like to inform you about the next steps, so please read this update carefully and please do not hesitate to contact me when you have any questions.

 What is happening in the next two weeks?

Within the first 24 hours after this campaign ended, Kickstarter will charge your credit card and collect your pledge. You can check your pledge page for the status of this. If your payment didn’t go through, Kickstarter will contact you a couple times for 7 days. They also provide a helpful FAQ in case you are having issues with pledging. 

Kickstarter has a mandatory two week waiting period before the campaign funds clear and the backer list is finalized. During this time I will be working on setting up the Backerkit pledge manager. 

For those who haven't used a pledgemanager before, this is a tool used to collect your shipping information and for collecting the shipping fees. Via Backerkit, you will also be able to upgrade your pledge or add additional items to your order such as an extra 11pcs set, 6D6 package and/or the limited edition Enamel pin! 

You will receive an email invite to backerkit when it is launched in roughly 1-2 weeks from today. I will also post an update here by then as well.
